All About Internship

Hey Readers!

Okay, supaya praktis dan sistematis (halah) kita bikin format Q and A aja yaa..

Q : Gimana pembagian kelompok internship? Boleh tuker2 nggak?
A : Sistem pembagiannya milih sendiri kelompok sejumlah 14-15 orang bebas, sehingga dari sekitar 150 orang calon dokter
internship ini terbagi jadi 10 kelompok. Nah, nanti masing2 kelompok mengajukan 1 wakil untuk ngambil undian TEMPAT
INTERNSHIP.

alasan apa. Kalo seangkatan setuju, beres lah, tergantung kesepakatan kalian sendiri :D

Q : Gimana pembagian stasenya? Ada jaga malem nggak?
A : Ini jawaban berdasarkan internship di Situbondo yaa..

Q : Gimana gaji a.k.a bantuan biaya hidupnya? apakah turun secara teratur? apakah mencukupi? (Ini pertanyaan rada2 retoris yaa sebenarnya :P)
A : Owkaaay.. Jadi mulai internship Februari, keluar gaji pertama April rapelan 3 bulan, terus keluar lagi Juni rapelan 3 bulan, and then Agustus akhir rapelan 3 bulan, daaaannn yang terakhir jengjengjeng... Barusan aja keluar 2 bulan... itu pun kurang Rp.2500, 2500 x 150 orang yaah lumayan lah buat maem bakso orang sedinkes :p *ups, becanda lhoyaaa, bukan suudzon* Yang 1 bulan masih menjadi misteri.. Jadi gak teratur gitu sih keluarnya.. Intinya jangan tergantung sama gaji internship, anggep aja nabung.. Cukup gak cukupnya relatif, tergantung lifestyle kita, tapi sedikit bocoran... Buat saya yang gaya hidupnya emang sedikit boros tapi juga ga boros2 amat, itu gajinya ga cukup :p Jadi masih ngeruk2 kantong ortu hehehehe..

NEXT!!

Q : Jatah cutinya berapa hari dalam setahun? Kalo mau ijin gimana? Mekanisme ijin?
A : Believe it or not jatah cutinya CUMA 3 HARI dalam setahun sodara2... hehehe.

Q : Perlu bawa/nyiapin apa aja buat internship?
A : Okayy... berikut ini ya hal2 yang wajib disiapin/dibawa buat selama internship :)

1. Jas Dokter + Name tag - Penting!!! Mengingat tampang kita yang masih bocah.. kalo ga pake jas bakal dipanggil dak, dek, dak, dek aja ato kadang-kadang sus --" , selama internship ini saya hanya memiliki 2 buah jas dan itu cukup kok. Jumlah minimal 2 lah, kalo lebih makin bagus deh :D

2. Alat2 Kedokteran - Standard lah, kayak DM, tensi, temp, stetoskop, penlight, GDA (kalo punya)

This happened a lot.. hehe.. Kalo cuma as.mef2 aja sih saya kasih, kalo udah yang mahal2 ya diresepi lah :D Sama buat diri kita gak kalah pentingnya. Saya sempet kena urtikaria hebat karena makan petis disini, padahal biasanya gakpapa. Belum lagi kalo batuk, pilek, mencret, be ready yaa, jaga kesehatan :D

7. Laptop, printer, dan segala perkakas pembuatan laporan.

8. Last but not least... BRING YOUR OWN ENTERTAINMENT :D Saya beruntung lho.. alhamdulillah yah.. di kos ada wifi yg bayarnya cuma 50ribu sebulan unlimited... muhahahahahh... jadi kehidupan social networking terjamin...

Kalo ada pertanyaan lain, FEEL FREE TO ASK HERE YAA.. Bakal dijawab sebisa mungkin :)

Okay... selamat menikmati masa2 liburan sebelum masa liburan dibayar kalian dimulai! (Lagi positif banget nih hehehe :p) Semangaatt!!!

Quick Bandung Escape - Day 2, Play Day

Holaa readers :)

Back again with my quick holiday review. Read my previous post here :)

Day 2, The Trans Studio
On day 2 we were welcoming more cousins yeaayyy so we decided to go to the famous Trans Studio. We've seen hell a looottt of it on TV, I think it's a great way to promote the new theme park. So despite having already visited the one in Makassar, I'm still curious about how this one is going to be different. We went there big team, probably 9-10 of us, I'm so lucky I have various aged cousins that are so solid and really great for hanging up together haha. Our team consist of Mbak Citra (the eldest, 25 y.o.) and the youngest ones Akmal n Sabrina (about 5-6 year old) but hey, we can have fun together! Amazingness! :D

Apparently the Trans studio in Bandung is much more fun than the one in Makassar, there are several attraction that is exactly the same, but a lot of them are different. If you've been to the Universal Studio Singapore, the theme park layout and design might ring a (lot of) bell, but that doesn't matter. It is indoor so you're sweat free, rain free, and tan-free :D If you're a loyal Trans TV watcher (like I am, since I don't subscribe to cable) you'll feel really familiar with their attraction names like "Dunia Lain", "Jelajah", "Bolang adventure" which are also the names of Trans TV programs. Here are some tips and tricks to spend a day there and some of our fave rides!

1) The entrance ticket costs IDR 150.000 for Monday-Friday and IDR 200.000 for Saturday-Sunday, including all the rides, no exception, but once you get out, you can't go back in. I think it's quite reasonable price, but they don't cut the price for smaller kids, soo Sabrina and Akmal had to pay full price :( Consider that. They don't allow you to bring ANY food/drinks, so have a decent breakfast before! The foods inside are quite pricey but hey, theme park typical, hehe. The payment system is using top up card, so you deposit some money at the entrance and later you can always top up if you run out. They'll refund if you don't spend all your deposit. BUT the refund cashiers are far far away in the Bandung Supermall Foodcourt, so for me, I prefer not depositing too much, just the amount that I will spend.

2) They'll nicely give you a map which shows you the direction to each attractions, and also provides the information of which one fits the smaller kids, which one needs an adult for the kids to ride, and which one is only for bigger kids. But don't worry you won't have to memorize cause before each attraction there will be signs.

3) Fave rides/must ride for bigger kids/adults:
-The Yamaha Racing Coaster, the roller coaster, the only outdoor attraction in the theme park. Level of scream: Maximal; Level of dizziness: 6/10, Speed: Maximal, Level of palpitation before riding it: Maximal. Level of wanting to ride again afterward: Maximal :D

-The Giant swing, I did not ride :p That's because I really dislike any ride that cause dizziness and nausea.. But for my cousins who doesn't have problem with their balancing system, I think they enjoy this so much!

-The Vertigo, did not ride, either :p For the same reason as Giant swing. If you've rode the Kicir-kicir in Dufan, this is exactly like that and I'd a terrible nausea after riding the Kicir-kicir, so it's a no for me, but again, for the others this seems like a really great ride!

-The Science center - Level of awesomeness: Maximal, Level of not wanting to get out of there: Maximal XD Feel like a kindergarten kids again, there are so many awesome facts displayed cutely in this section. My fave was the "Nail Bed" where you can literally lay on bed of nails and feel like "debus" XD and the laser harpa. What's yours??

-The Land of the Giant, Level of scream: Maximal, Level of wanting to ride again: Maximal

-Jelajah, this one is exactly like the one in Makassar, but still fun to ride! recommended! Me and my sist already know the tricks not to get wet :p But won't spoil it here, hahaha :D

-The Dunia Lain, well.. For me this isn't scary at all hahahaha. Been to worst :p But for my sister and some of my cousins they don't even dare to open their eyes! So for you who have the guts, this is a must!

Well I think that was it. We enjoy our time so much. Really there's a kid inside everyone of us. Enjoy! You can read more about Trans studio by visiting their official site HERE.

Se how we were having so much fun?? Hope u'll do too! Do visit on weekdays if possible because of the time efficiency (you don't want to queue that long, right?) ciao for now! Have a blast day!

Quick Bandung Escape - Part 1, Shopping Day

Heyy readers :)

Had a 4-day Bandung trip 2weeks ago to attend my cousin's wedding (Congratz mas Adit-Dewi!) and here's a little review of the mini-escape!

The first impression.. Bandung was not as enjoyable as it used to be for a quick escape like this :( Mainly due to the visibly increasing traffic jam. Last time I went to Bandung was on March, about 8-9months ago, and just within that time I already notice that the roads were much, much, more crowded and so you cannot go to many places that you want just within a day. So you really need to plan your trip and go to places that is located in the same area or else you'll spent most of your time stuck in traffic.

First day-Shopping Day!
Me and my sister went to some local boutiques or nowadays it's called concept store, we'd been eyeing on. You know.. me and my sister are casual-but-still-don't-wanna-look-outdated-and-vintage-style-fashion junkie, and we really find problems finding those kind of clothes in Surabaya where we live.. It's a pity why our favorite clothing brands like cotton ink, picnic, is not available in stores here in Surabaya :( Our favorites were:

1).Widely Project located in jalan Riau, it is the stockist of clothes that we usually only able to buy online. We went there and yeayy it was like a closet full of our kind of clothes and dresses.. Shop shop shop!

2) Next we went to Happy go lucky, another shop with good quality local brands, price quite affordable. The building was so cuuute and uniquely designed (this is what I LOOVE about Bandung, the people are really creative in a cute way, that shopping experience is more than just shopping, but we were given a really enjoyable display view. Love love!

3) Pop Shop. Another popular concept store consists of fashion store (The Pop Shop), a cute barber corner, for your boyfriends who want a little shave while waiting their ladies shopping, called Barber Pop, and a finely designed cafe upstairs called Vanilla Kitchen and Wine, with a not-surprisingly affordable foods n desserts (Bandung typical! Nice place, affordable price) :). So it's a great one-stop weekend alternative. We tried their apple crumble, and it was yummmmm :) Love!

Here are some pics, hope you enjoy!

Okay, gotta go prepare for my afternoon ER shift now, we'll continue my Bandung escape review on next posts, hope it helps! Ciao! :)

Magical

There are moments when we feel sad, happy, annoyed, and even elated.
But how often do you feel magical?
For me, it's not so often. And today I did feel that magical moment.

2 weeks ago, A patient came to the ER during my afternoon shift. He was brought by the family because of massive hematemesis or vomiting blood. He was so pale and his pulse was so weak I almost couldn't feel it. The family was crying. He's a chronic sufferer of a lethal lever disease called cirrhosis where the lever cells are fibrotic and don't function anymore. We have tried almost every attempt possible to stop the bleeding but it wouldn't last for long. I made the transfusion form immediately and even after he was stable and transferred to the room, only several hours later the nurse called reporting another episode of massive blood vomiting. So we double the intravenous line so that it was blood transfusion into right arm and resuscitation fluid into left arm. The hospital does not have facility for endoscopic vessel ligation so all we could do was try to stabilize the patient and later if possible, refer him to more capable hospital. But the amount of blood loss was too much and the blood pressure keep dropping. From what I saw he lost almost 2 liters of blood that time. At the end of the day I was really pessimistic about this patient, and I told the family to be prepared for the worst. The patient survived through my shift, and I went home that day being all so pessimist about him, feeling so pity and hoping the family will be strong when the worst happens. I was too sure he wouldn't survive anymore day.

Today, the patient came to the ER walking, smiling, bringing us food and saying thank you, apologizing for being such a "pain in the neck" that day, and said that he did not do it on purpose :') I was nothing but speechless. There he is, the same patient that I thought have already passed days ago, walking and smiling. I wanted to hug him. I wanted to hug GOD. I'm sorry for ever forgetting that despite all efforts humans make and all knowledge humans have, the decision is always up to GOD. Apparently He still want this patient to have some more time..

It was magical and I feel grateful to have the best job in the world that teach me so much life lesson and reminds me of how small we are, how little we can do, and how only God can make anything that seems impossible happens :)

p.s. Went to Bandung for my cousin's wed and finally visit Trans studio, the new theme park there, went there with lovely cousins, happy!
